Hello Friends,
After taking time off to concentrate on remix duties for other respective labels, The Wisemen have returned with remixes of "X-Girlfriend", a track by original Mi Casa Records guest artist Lester McLean AKA "McDutty". Originally treated as a side remix project, Mi Casa Records could not resist the opportunity to release and license such a soulful, melodic journey taking the label back to its roots. We last heard Lester McLean on "Sax Man", Mi Casa Record's sophomore release and since then has been very busy in the Canadian music scene performing at numerous venues across Toronto with his bands The Lester McLean Trio (TLMT) and Grooveyard. The Wisemen serve up seven mixes on this release. Robin "The Boy Wonder" Eccleston laces it up with a soulful tip, signature keys and lively basslines in the "Rub a Dub" mix. Kendall "Darkman" Marin gets down and dirty with another "Darkman Mix" that has aggressive beats, rolling basslines and deep chords that will take you into the wee hours of the morning.
"It was great to work with "The Boy Wonder" and give X-Girlfriend a whole new life. I hope people hear it, love it, and dance." - Lester McLean AKA "McDutty" (The original version of X-Girlfriend appears on the MOS Records release "Best Foot Forward")
X-Girlfriend Remixed is currently on "Upfront Pressure" and "Just Added" sections on Traxsource www.traxsource.com.

Distilling Lester McLean Trio

I spent the afternoon yesterday walking around the Distillery District looking at the Pure Spirit Lofts and the newly opened showroom for the http://www.clearspiritliving.com/Clear Spirit Lofts, the only 2 residential buildings in the pedestrian only area in the District. The units are nice and well appointed, but the premium for the location is pretty steep, over $450/sq.ft., plus parking ($28000) and locker ($3800). I enjoyed reading over the propoganda (err, information) at the Pure Sprits Patio, drinking a very good glass of Mill St. Belgian Wit beer and taking in the sounds of the Lester McLean Trio. The beer was good, but the music was great. So good I bought the new album, Best Foot Forward. It has 6 new tracks and 7 great covers. My favourite is the last track, written by Lester, Hold On. If you are planning to go down to the Distillery District, make it one of the afternoons this trio is performing (details), you will not be disappointed. You can sample and buy the album here.

"The Ray Emery: Fashionista feature that was on NHL on TSN last night can be found here on TSN.ca Broadband.
Also? The song that was used in it was pretty awesome. It's an original composition by Lester McLean, who's a ESPN Classic manager but also part of a band called the Lester McLean Trio. If you love the song as much as I do, it's called "Fashion Plate" and you can listen and download it here. That's some pretty sexy guitar, how appropriate."
